Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing Coordinator to join our team in Columbus, OH. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment and takes pride in accuracy, follow-through, and financial integrity.

You will play a key role in ensuring accurate billing, timely payment processing, and effective communication with insurance providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Collections

  • Log payments from insurance companies and patients, maintaining accurate financial records
  • Submit insurance claims and process billing data efficiently
  • Verify insurance benefits for new and existing clients
  • Follow up on delinquent payments and resolve denial instances
  • File appeals as needed to ensure proper reimbursement
  • Update billing addresses and patient contact information

Administrative Support

  • Assist with faxing, answering calls, emails, and text communications
  • Support general office functions related to billing and patient accounts

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or a related field
  • Proficiency with:
    • Google Suite
    • Microsoft Excel and Word
    • CMS-1500 claim forms
    • Availity platform
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
